Fall Out Boy Saves Rock and Roll

Fall Out Boy

First emerging from Illinois in the early 2000s, Fall Out Boy became a well known band, not only for their long song titles but their stage presence as well. Their first album ‘Take This to Your Grave’ was released in 2003, with hits such as ‘Dead on Arrival,’ and ‘Grand Theft Autumn’ (Billboard). In 2005, Fall Out Boy released their second album, ‘From Under the Cork Tree.’ This album really put the band on the charts with ‘Sugar We’re Going Down,’ and ‘Dance, Dance.’ The album went double platinum and the band went on to play at The Bamboozle Festival and on the Vans Warped Tour. Third album ‘Infinity on High’ brought fans ‘This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race’ in 2007 and the album ‘Folie a Deux’ brought us hit song ‘I Don’t Care’ shortly after.

In 2010, the band announced a hiatus and for a while, fans were uncertain as to the future of Fall Out Boy. Lead singer, Patrick Stump went on to launch his solo career and released his album, ‘Soul Punk,’ which featured his single, ‘This City’ (Billboard).

Now, 3 years after their announced hiatus, Fall Out Boy has announced the release of a new album coming in May 2013. This morning, the band released the news of a new tour, new album, and new single through their Facebook.  The new single, ‘My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark’ features 2 Chainz and can be listened to on Youtube and purchased through iTunes.

Tickets go on sale for their tour this Friday, February 8th. Preorders for the new album are available as well. Opting to go the bundle route, the band has four preorder bundles available with CD and vinyl formats available with hoodies, hats, and other merchandise ranging in price from $14 - $150.
